Even employees who are excited about using artificial intelligence may have concerns about its potential implications and effects. It is important to ease employee anxiety regarding AI by addressing those fears.
Harvard Business Review shares the following tips to help your team adapt and offer them necessary support.
- Acknowledge the tension. Encourage honest conversations about what seems useful and what seems overwhelming. Address fears about job loss directly, and share your own uncertainty while demonstrating your confidence in your team’s experience and judgment.
- Make experimentation safe. Give employees the time and opportunity to test whether AI can help with a frustrating daily task. Help them experience a successful result and a failure so they understand AI’s usefulness and its limits.
- Reinvest the time saved. Use some of AI’s productivity gains to give employees space to develop skills and learn together. Let them know about specific learning opportunities available and how their work might evolve. Be clear about what you know, what is uncertain and how they can prepare.
